Casio's Fall G-Shock Collection is Tougher & LARGER Than Ever
Casio has launched their Fall Collection of G-Shock watches, and there is a whole lot of new watches to choose from. For starters, the G-Shock Ultimate Tough GX56 sports the largest case design (55.5mm x 53.6mm x 17.5mm) in G-Shock history, and is nearly two times (2x) larger in volume than the classic DW5600. Like with its predecessors, the GX56 has a “hollow case construction, all-directional covering and cushioning material around its critical operating parts. Plus, a new triple density, triple layer structure elevates the GX56 to a new level of shock resistance. It features layers of hard urethane just below the case protect against external shocks. The black G-Shock Ultimate Tough GX56 will retail for $150. There is also the new G-Shock X DGK which stems from a collaboration between G-Shock and skate brand DGK. The GX56DGK-1 isn’t just eclectic with its royal purple and black colorway, it also comes complete with a reverse purple LCD, and happens to be the most shock resistant watch in G-Shock history. The watch is also self-charging via solar power, it’s mud resistant, and comes with a Full Auto EL Backlight,Countdown Timer, and 4 Daily Alarms and 1 Snooze Alarm. The The GX56DGK-1will retail for $16o and will be available in December.
The G-Shock GWX5600B-7 features the surf-friendly G-LIDE style in a shiny black and white colorway. The GWX5600B-7 features Self-Charging, Tough Solar Power and Self-Adjusting Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping and will retail for $150.
The G-Shock DW6900SB Mirror Face Collection features metallic bodies paired with mirrored facades. The the DW6900SB is available in four metallic colorways: deep navy blue with lime green accents and LCD (DW6900SB-2), maroon with an electric purple screen (DW6900SB-4), gray with dark red contrasts (DW6900SB-8) and tangerine with orange and white highlights (DW6900SB-9). The Mirror Face Collection will retail for $99.
The Opal Face GLS5600KL features a special light-refracting, opal-toned treatment to the dial of the watch’s face. It’s available in black with red multi-color opalescent effect (GLS5600KL-1), regal purple with teal highlights (GLS5600KL-6) and pearl white with a white kaleidoscope face (GLS5600KL-7), the GLS5600KL pays homage to the very first G-Shock (DW5000C) with its classic square shaped case. Features include Shock Resistance, Water Resistance to an incredible 200 meters, Low Temperature Resistance (-20°C/ -4°F), Auto EL Backlight, Flash Alert, World Time, 4 Multi-function Alarms and 1 Snooze Alarm, Dual 1/100th Second Stopwatches, Countdown Timer, Mute function and 12/24 Hr Formats. The Opal Face GLS5600KL will retail for $130.
Finally, the GRX5600SRF-3 is the second collaboration between G-Shock and the Surfrider Foundation to create a watch, with a portion of the proceeds going to the foundation. The GRX5600SRF-3 features a Tide Graph function with 100 pre-set site locations as well as a Moon Age & Phase Data indicator for the tracking the tides. The watch also sports a bright yellow and deep jade motif with the Surfrider logo on the band. The GRX5600SRF-3 is available for $130.
