Dead Sea Scrolls to be Digitized by Google

The classics, the earth – is there nothing safe from being digitized by Google? The Dead Sea Scrolls are the next project to be brought into the cloud by Google. The 2,000 year old scrolls are recognized as one of the most important archaeological discoveries ever, and thanks to Google they will be soon be available for everyone to view for free on the internet. This initiative stems from a joint project with the Israel Antiquities Authority and Google. Users will be able to see exact copies of the scrolls, and the scrolls will even be searchable and available in their original languages – Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Plus, there will be an English translation available, with more translations becoming available later on.
