Kodak has a new line of fun and affordable cameras coming this year, and we had the opportunity to take a hands-on look. Kodak has done a fabulous job of incorporating the features that young consumers want. Some of the features incorporated into their upcoming lines of cameras include chic and stylish appearances, waterproof-dustproof-shockproof durability, social network integration, superior HD shots and video, or even a front facing mirror for great self-shots.
Kodak’s is releasing a new generation of their award winning Kodak PlaySport, which is designed for the adventurous lifestyle. This new model is not only waterproof up to 10 feet, but shockproof and dustproof. PlaySport shoots video at 1080p video or 5 megapixel stills. It also features the Kodak Share Button which allows users to choose the social network(s) they want to share their shots with directly from the camera. The shots are uploaded as soon as the camera syncs with the computer. The PlaySport will be available in Spring 2011 in black, red, green, white, and aqua for $179.95.
The Kodak PlayFull is a stylish candy bar shaped camera that records 1080P HD video and 5 Megapixel stills. It incorporates Kodak’s Share button which automatically uploads the image to any social networks you designate as soon as it syncs with your computer. It also has built-in image stabilization, face tracking, LCD Glare Shield, and is Mac and PC compatible. It will be available in silver, blue-silver, purple-silver, and blue-black in Spring 2011 for $149.95
Kodak’s EasyShare Mini Camera is about the size of a credit card, Kodak’s smallest camera yet. It has a 3X wide-angle optical zoom lens and a built-in front mirror, great for taking shots of yourself with friends. It’s a 10MP camera with a 2.5 inch LCD display. The Mini will be available in white, purple, red, and black in the Spring for $99.95.
Kodak’s EasyShare Touch Camera is a 14MP camera with a 5X wide-angle Schneider-Kreuznach Optical Zoom lens. It has a 3-inch high resolution capacitive touchscreen LCD. It records 720p HD video and has a dedicated record button. There’s an HDMI connector so you can view your photos and videos on your HDTV. The auto organization features is an interesting addition that automatically sorts photos by people, date, keywords, and videos so it’s easy to find the shots you want to share. You can even add captions to be included when you upload them to your social networks. The EasyShare Touch camera will be available in silver, black, red-orange, purple and red for $149.95 in the Spring.
Kodak’s EasyShare Sport is ready for whatever adventure you’re bringing it on. It’s Kodak’s first waterproof digital still camera and can go put to 10 feet underwater. It can is also rustproof and can withstand dirt, dust, and sand. It’s a 12 MP camera with a 2.4 inch LCD display. The EasyShare Sport will be available in white, grey, red, yellow, and blue for $79.95.
