It has been talked about for years. Joss Whedon was at one point kicking the idea around to turn Wonder Woman into a movie, and then there was rumors of a TV series… All in all, the constant chatter of re-booting Wonder Woman has been an ongoing discussion that has finally come to an end with the announcement of NBC picking up the Wonder Woman pilot. So who is behind the latest incarnation? Someone who actually has no history of working with this type of genre at all – David E. Kelley. The guy behind The Practice, Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, and the quirky Ally McBeal. So what can we expect from the pilot if it actually gets the green light to air? According to EW, the lasso and cuffs are there and the script has a less than campy feel. Does that mean we will see Princess Diana, Amazon Defense Attorney? or maybe digitized dancing babies? Who knows, but I’m excited to see it happen, and I just hope that Kelley does right by the lady and she doesn’t end of up where Bionic Woman and Dollhouse did. We need to see more badass ladies on the small screen and maybe David E. Kelley is just the guy for the job, and if we could get Lynda Carter as cameo, that would be this fangirls dream come true.
