3HP’s versatile TouchSmart series just got a whole lot more versatile. The new TouchSmart 610 offers a similarly powerful feature set and the same rich TouchSmart software interface to the table as its predecessors, but this model sports a new design that allows the AIO system to rest at all sorts of angles. That includes a 60 degree reclining angle, essentially transforming the PC into a massive tablet. HP is also now including Beats Audio as a standard feature on the TouchSmart 610 series. The TouchSmart 610 is also compatible with HP LinkUp, a new app that lets users wirelessly link a notebook PC to the TouchSmart using a home network for accessing and viewings apps, files and content from a laptop on the TouchSmart’s large HD screen.
The new TouchSmart 9300 Elite Business PC also sports this new form-factor, and is able to recline at a 60 degree angle. This system is designed to be the ultimate AIO PC for hospitality, retail, healthcare and other business environments. Because it can be wall mounted or easily positioned on a counter, it really is ideal as a kiosk system. For example, Barnes & Noble has already set up several Tikatok interactive kiosks by using the 9300 in their new Educational Toys & Games department. They’ve developed a special app for the 9300 that lets kids use the Tikatok book creation module and read books that other kids have created at Tikatok.com.
Both the TouchSmart 610 and TouchSMart 9300 feature a 23″ HD multi-touch display that reclines up to 60 degrees and tilts forward up to five degrees. Pricing for the HP TouchSmart 610 will start at a very reasonable $899 and it goes on sale on February 9th. One thing is for sure, with its brilliant touchscreen display and new resting angle which is ideal for drawing, the TouchSmart 610 is a great value for creative types. Meanwhile, the HP TouchSmart 9300 Business PC will become available in May.
