ooVoo Introduces Cross-Platform Video Chat

You may or may not have heard of ooVoo at this point, but over the past couple of years it has been positioning itself to make a run at Skype’s video chat dominance. ooVoo took a big step toward accomplishing that today by announcing at MWC 2011 that it will have demonstrations of new upgrades that allow for seamless communication between pretty much all existing major platforms.

The demos promise to have smooth, clear communication between iPhones, iPads, Android devices, tablets, Macs and PCs. The app will be individually released for each platform, but will be able to communicate seamlessly and effectively with other platforms. Combine that with ooVoo’s advancements in group video chats and picture quality, and Skype might have some reason to start sweating. The ooVoo Mobile App is available as of today from the Android Market, and will be available on iTunes in April of this year. Get ready to see smiling faces, regardless of who’s an Android user and who’s an iOS user, or who’s a Mac user and who’s a PC user.
