They’re late to the game, but Sony has finally announced two upcoming Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets, codenamed the S1 and S2. The S1 sports a 9.4″ display with an “off-center of gravity design realizes stability and ease of grip as well as a sense of stability and lightness, offering comfortable use for hours.” The S2 spices things up a bit by packing in two 5.5″ displays that can be folded. Each display sports a resolution of 1,024 x 480. This dual screen design is designed to be used kind o flick a Nintendo DS, with video playing on one screen while the other displays control buttons and keyboard. Other standard features for both devices include Wi-fi, DLNA compatibility, 3G & 4G compatibility, and they’re both Playstation Certified.
Both Sony tablets are expected to be globally released in the fall. But who knows what kind of fighting chance they’ll have by then.
