Tuff-Luv Marrakesh Multi-View Case for Amazon Kindle 3 Review

The Marrakesh Multi-View Case and Stand for the Amazon Kindle 3 by Tuff-Luv is an exotic and flashy, yet functional, case that provides some nice protection and multiple viewing angles. The case is handmade in textiles and artificial leather. The stand has three different angles in which it can be mounted.

This red leather Marrakesh case is one piece with a cover that secures the case closed with a magnetic button. The cover swivels at the bottom of the case, the kindle is inserted from the top of the case and locked in with a velcro tab. All buttons and ports are completely accessible with one exception: there’s a cutout on the bottom of the case for the headphone and charger–the cutout could be larger as it’s tough to access the charging port. This cutout also becomes an issue when you open and close the case, as it could potentially break your cables or device. There is a metal grille on the back for the speakers. Overall, the case is well reinforced and offers your Kindle solid protection from drops.

The appearance of the case is quite flashy and exotic. The red leather is durable, comfortable, and really clean-looking. The face of the case is comprised of various fabrics and stitching which gives it the Moroccan flair that it’s named for.

Our main gripe with the case is that the cover is attached at the bottom of the case, meaning it will just hang below the case if you’re holding your kindle. It’s not as comfortable to fold the cover behind the case. That aside, it’s great to be able to prop up our Kindle in three different viewing angles. The stand is sturdy, though a bit involved as it requires un-velcroing and velcroing. The case measures just under one inch thick, and is very protective. The Tuff-Luv Marrakesh Multi-View Case Cover and Stand for Amazon Kindle 3 can be purchased for £29.99 (about $48 USD), which is a pretty penny to pay for a Kindle case.

Note: The Marrakesh will only work for Kindle 3, not Kindle 1 or Kindle 2 (or the Samsung Galaxy 7” tab).

The Good: Beautiful exotic design, Built-in Stand, Different Pivot Angles, Good Cutouts (with one exception), Comfortable, Protective, Durable
The Bad: Pricey, Cover attached at Bottom, a bit bulky, Cutout for Charger and Headphones is too small, Case is Not Ideal for Holding Kindle Upright
