It looks like the auto industry wants to entice you to stay in your car more than ever. If its not upping the ante with technology at your fingertips – like bluetooth connectivity for almost every bluetooth enabled device you own, access to your social media sites, and expansive music libraries like Pandora. Now they want to make the sound that comes out of those speakers even better too. Chrysler made a mark at the Auto Show this year by introducing it’s Chrysler 300 model with an integrated Beats by Dr. Dre audio sound system.
Now it’s the BMW 6 Series that’s getting an audio facelift. In March 2011, Bang & Olufsen and BMW announced its collaboration surrounding the BMW 6 Series Coupe, which would be the first to feature the Bang & Olufsen high-end Surround Sound System. However, the two brands are upgrading yet another model that will feature the custom built sound system, the BMW 6 Series Convertible.
The Bang & Olufsen high-end Surround Sound system for the BMW 6 Series Convertible will feature 12 active loudspeakers with 1,000 watts of power. There will also be five tweeters paired with a mid-range loudspeaker to deliver a balanced yet rich experience. In addition, there will be two subwoofers located under the front seats that should get your lead foot in motion.
Get ready to lower the top and let your hair blow in the wind this fall when the BMW 6 Series Coupe and convertible roll into the showroom.
