Look ma, no wires! The new Harman JBL SB 300, doesn’t just sport a neat design, but it also keeps things neat and tidy by being wireless. That is because the SB 300 is a wireless Two-Piece Home Theater System. Instead of having to deal with the hassle of setting up a five-piece surround sound system, the JBL SB 300 packs everything into just two components – a soundbar and a subwoofer. The system further cuts the clutter by being wireless. The two pieces are connected via wireless and optimized to work together.
And speaking of optimization, they promise to deliver a better overall performance than a stand-alone five-piece component system. The speakers use DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Digital decoding and Dolby Virtual Speaker technology to create a virtual 5.1-channel surround-sound environment. Meanwhile, the subwoofers provides 100 watts.
“A high-definition TV can produce sound just as dynamic as the picture quality, yet many people don’t take advantage of that because a traditional surround-sound setup is cumbersome. The JBL SB 300 two-piece approach changes that, providing terrific sound while eliminating wire clutter,” said David Slump, president of HARMAN Consumer Division. “This simple solution not only makes setup easier, it dramatically improves the viewing experience, whether you’re watching a Sunday-afternoon football game or enjoying family movie night.”
The sound bar packs in left and right speakers, amplifiers, and top-mounted controls. Its JBL Wave design is also made to be the perfect complement to a flat-panel LCD or plasma telly.
The system also comes with a credit-card-size remote control, wall-mounting brackets and audio cables. Overall, not too bad for a $599 price tag, however, it can be found for as low as $499 on Amazon.
