Epson has announced its new line of printers aimed at the business world at IFA 2011 in Berlin. The WorkForce Pro Line – including the WP-4540, WP-4530, and WP-4020 models, all take steps at maximizing speed and efficiency, and are compatible with Epson’s new remote printing service, Epson Connect. The WP-4540 and WP-4530 are all-in-one machines, while the WP-4020 is strictly an inkjet printer.
The WP-4540 and WP-4530 are the more feature-rich of the printers, and sport print speeds of 16 ISO ppm black and 11 ISO ppm color for single-sided printing and 9.2 ISO ppm black and 7.1 ISO ppm color for two-sided printing – Epson claims this is the fastest in the world. The massive new ink cartridges can handle 2,400 pages of black print and 1,200 pages of color printing before needing to be replaced, potentially cutting ink costs for businesses by 50%. Both have a built-in 30-page automatic feeder to copy, fax, and scan two-sided originals and can receive files directly from an external source through the USB port. You can also save scans directly as PDFs.
The WP-4020 is similar to the other two, only lacking in copying, scanning, and fax functionality. It features a massive 330-sheet input capacity. The WP-4020 will cost $179.99, while the WP-4540 and WP-4530 will cost $399.99 and $299.99, respectively. All three will be available in stores sometime in September.
