Verizon Wireless has just announced the Pantech Breakout, this new Android smartphone packs in Verion’s 4G LTE technology. That means that the phone is capable of download speeds between 5 and 12Mpbs, and upload speeds of between 2 and 5Mbps. Under the hood, the device is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it sports a 1GHz processor, a 4″ display with a 480×800 resolution, and it has mobile hotspot support for up-to 10 devices – which is double the standard 5 you would expect to see. The Breakout also features a 5 megapixel auto-focus rear facing camera that is cable to record 720P HD video, and it has a VGA front-facing camera for video chats. Finally, the device also comes with a pre-installed 8GB microSD.
Overall, the Pantech Breakout is hardly the most exciting phone, but it seems like a well-rounded device. The Pantech Breakout will be available for $99.99 after a $50 rebate, with a two year contract.
