Sharp Unveils Largest LED TV to the Horror of Wives Everywhere
In news that is going to have many wives, and I suspect even many husbands, asking, “Really?,” Sharp has unveiled its staggering 80” (yes, eighty) AQUOS flat-panel LED/LCD TV. Naturally, a behemoth like this is only going to sporting the best tech – 1080p HD video with 1920×1080 resolution. And, because why not, it has full Smart TV functionality. With the 80” AQUOS, you’re probably looking at the ultimate television experience available on the market.
Being a Smart TV, there is built-in Wi-Fi, along with access to Netflix, CinemaNow, and VUDU apps, among others. And, just in case your new monster of a baby needs some extra care, you have instant access to Sharp’s AQUOS Advantage Live online support. The TV also uses 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced to eliminate blur and ghosts. The LCD panel and LED backlighting combine to provide even, quality brightness that will probably surpass most other televisions of this size currently available. And, if you’re thinking of the insane gaming sessions possible with this giant screen TV, there is even Vyper Drive, a game mode that specifically works to eliminate lag between the console and the screen.
The Sharp AQUOS 80” LED/LCD television will be available in early October for the low, low price of $5,499.99. So, yeah, if the husband is clamoring for this thing during the holiday season, it’s not going to happen unless you have deep, deep pockets. That, or this gigantic television is going to represent about five years’ worth of holiday and birthday presents.
