Asus has never been known for style in the notebook market, but that might change thanks to the sleek silver Zenbook line hitting stores soon. The Zenbook has the substance to go with the style – for what it packs inside, it’s a pretty good buy for the price, too.
The Zenbook line will run on any one of Intel’s latest generation of processors – the i3, i5, or i7 quad core CPUs. The notebooks have a 2 second wake-up time, support Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0, and come with a built-in webcam. Storage is handle by a SATA Revision 3.0 solid state drive. On the style side, the silver cover has a hypnotizing concentric circle pattern. Better yet, it’s incredibly thin and light. The Zenbook is 0.11” at the front and 0.67” at the rear, giving it that teardrop look that everyone thought was going to come with the iPhone 5.
The battery is more efficient at power consumption thanks to ASUS’ Super Hybrid Engine II technology. The 13.3” UX31 has a battery life of over 7 hours, while the 11.6” UX21 has a battery life of over 5 hours. ASUS is also packing powerful in-house technology into the Zenbook’s speakers, to give a solid all-around media consumption experience for users.
You can get all of that in the tranquil Zenbook for a reasonable $999. The Zenbook line should be hitting stores starting today.
