Epson is getting light and airy with its’ first ever portable color document scanner that comes in at just about 12 ounces, as announce at CES 2012. It’s claim to fame is that it is the only portable document scanner that has both one touch scan-to-cloud capabilities as well as TWAIN interface, that makes for an expansive range of software compatibility. You can now scan, save and send from virtually anywhere because it is USB powered, so all you need is a laptop or desktop nearby to plug into, instead of an attached external power supply.
It has Document Capture Pro software and a customizable one-touch button allowing users to scan directly to email, FTP, or a specific directory folder, as well as directly to popular cloud services such as SharePoint, Google Docs and Evernote. Users can also scan a variety of originals – from documents up to 8.5 inches by 14 inches to business cards and rigid ID cards – and take advantage of advanced correction tools, such as removing punch holes, auto-sizing and enhancing text quality or correcting image skew.
This scanner will be available for $179 in March 2012 through retail stores and online, as well as through Epson.
