Macaw and Magisto Take Top Honors at Mobile Apps Showdown

Amongst the gadgets and technology that clutters up CES, there was a brief moment for some significant apps to take center stage. Considering the millions of apps that are out there on various platforms, it is no easy feat to win such an illustrious prize, but at Mobile Apps Showdown two Apps did just that – Magisto and Macaw. Mobile Apps Showdown is the brainchild of Robin Raskin. This year Jon Hein, Gary Dell’Abate, myself and several other colleagues from various parts of the technology field presented at the event and judged the apps.

Yes, these two apps stood out above the crowd, and for both judges as well as for online voters too. Magisto gives you the ability to produce an edited video piece on the fly on your iPhone, while Macaw is your portable life couch and nutritionist all rolled into one. The app monitors your calorie intake, exercise regime, and much more. Magisto took top honor as the best app amongst the competition, while Macaw took home the prize for the most popular app by online votes.
