NPR is celebrating 40 years of quality radio in the United States this year. One way they’re getting listeners in on the celebration is with this limited edition Peter Max Tivoli iSongBook, an iPod dock covered in NPR-inspired artwork from pop artist Peter Max.
In addition to playing songs from your iPod, the iSongbook comes with an AM/FM tuner, 5 station presets, a backlight, a sleep timer, and an alarm clock. The second speaker can also be detached, and placed up to 6 feet away thanks to the included cord.
It’s worth noting that the product description says that the iSongBook is compatible only with the 1st and 2 generation iPod Touch and the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS. It’s hard to believe that this wouldn’t be compatible with the most recent iterations, but it’s worth looking into to make sure.
If you choose to buy this, though, you’ll be supporting NPR in a big way – to the tune of about $400. There’s also a regular clock-radio version without the iPod dock, which costs about $200. I guess that original artwork really drives up the price.
