Is that a Victorinox SSD in Your Pocket, Or Are You Just Happy to See Me?

With the amount of storage the Victorinox SSD packs, you’d think that bulge would have to be pretty big. But, you’d be wrong. Victorinox has managed to pack 1 TB of data into the body of one of their Swiss Army Knives. As if the Swiss Army Knife couldn’t get any more useful – now it’ll hold just about all the data a person could ever need.

Preloaded onto the drive is the Victorinox Secure software suite, which provides 256 AES combination hardware and software encryption, so if you have top secret files to be hiding, it looks like this is your best bet. For extra convenience, the drive fits into all USB 2.0/3.0 and eSATA 2/3 ports. The Victorinox SSD also features an LCD screen that uses low-power ePaper technology to display labels and drive storage capacity.

Included with the drive are two bodies – a red and a black – in the traditional Swiss Army Knife mold. The red body actually is a Swiss Army Knife, and includes a blade, a nail file, scissors, and a screwdriver. The black body is airport friendly, and only serves to hold the SSD.

If you’re not looking to put down the cash for 1 TB, the Victorinox SSD is also available in 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB models. The Victorinox SSD debuted last week during CES 2012. Pricing and availability are currently unknown.
