Acer Iconia Tabs Get Android 4.0 update
While other manufactures have been busy telling us that Android 4.0 updates are on the way, Acer has beat everyone to the punch. The company has just announced that they are now updating their Acer Iconia Tab line of tablets with Ice Cream Sandwich. The update is currently being pushed over the air to the Acer Iconia Tab A200 and should be completed over the following week. Meanwhile, the 7″ A100 Iconia Tab and the 10″ A500 Iconia Tab tablets are both scheduled for an update in April.
But Acer’s updates for their Iconia tablets doesn’t just bring Ice Cream Sandwich to the tablets, but it also brings the Acer Ring to the Android user interface. The Acer Ring is a super customizable U.I. element, that makes it even easier to instantly access your favorite apps, capture screen images, post photos and status updates, surf the web and more. The Acer Ring can be launched with a single touch. Furthermore, the update also brings on an improved weather widget, along with improved image zoom and the ability to take snapshots while recording video.
Kudos, to Acer for being one of the first manufacturers to roll out Android 4.0 updates to their existing product line!
