Philips TwinPlay Officially Ends the ‘Are We There Yet?’ Era

Mounted to headrests 572x241 Philips TwinPlay Officially Ends the Are We There Yet? Era

If there was any doubt before, let there be none now – we finally live in an age where we never need to hear our kids ask that dreaded four-word phrase ad nauseam. Philips TwinPlay includes a cupholder-fitted dock and two 7” or 9” LCD screens. The two screens can be strapped onto the back of the front seat headrests, while those in the passenger seat control the screens from their iPhone, iPod, or iPad. It should be noted that the docking is handled by a 32-pin connector, so this will only work for those with Apple products. When the device is turned on, the docking station can stream anything from the connected Apple device – stored music or movies, or content from apps like Pandora or Netflix.

It sounds like a dream if you want to keep the kids occupied on large car rides, while still staying in control of the content. Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from taking the dock out of the front cupholder and handing it over to the backseat, but I don’t know. Sounds dangerous. You never know what those kids will get up to when left to their own devices.
