As promised, owners of Ford vehicles that feature MyFord Touch, a special UI for Ford cars, will receive an upgrade sometime this week via a USB flash drive coming in the mail. MyFord Touch, which allows drivers to wirelessly use their mobile devices in conjunction with their Ford cars in a safe, hands-free way, has been subject to much criticism due to its lack of reliability and not-so-user-friendly interface.
That should change with this new upgrade, which offers software improvements and a simpler user interface with larger text that should be easier to read. The touch screen should have a faster response time, as well. Compatibility with mobile devices has also been expanded.
The software update will come standard with seven of Ford’s 2013 models, including the Taurus and the Flex.
