Even if you’ve never heard of the name Shepard Fairey, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize his work – most notably, the classic OBEY graphic and those haunting, sad eyes looking out of a star. Fairey’s works are geared towards the celebration of peace, beauty, and harmony, and have been cultural mainstays for many years running. Now, if you obey the Apple lifestyle, you can score some of Fairey’s work on your next case or sleeve for your Apple products.
Four of Fairey’s designs have gone into Incase’s new line of Apple cases and sleeves. You can find iPhone 4 cases, iPod Touch cases, and 11”, 13”, and 15” laptop sleeves for the MacBook Air. A couple of the designs also grace campus backpacks that can tote around all the gadgets fit to pack. High art doesn’t come cheap, though – the iPhone 4S cases are selling for a shade under $40, while the iPod Touch cases are a little more accessible at about $30. Both cases are of the hard-shell, snap-on variety. The 11”, 13”, and 15” sleeves are about $70, $80, and $90, respectively, while the campus bags are going for about $150. I’m not so sure I’m at peace with those prices, but, to their credit, Incase usually puts out fairly high quality products, and the art is top notch, so if you have the cash and love the designs, why not?
