Android App of the Week: aShell Launcher is an Alternate UI for Your Android Phone

unnamed Android App of the Week: aShell Launcher is an Alternate UI for Your Android Phone

The aShell Launcher for Android phones, from developer MobilityFlow, is another home screen you can slap on your phone if the native UI doesn’t suit your taste. The aShell Launcher resembles the HTC Sense UI a little, and features a docking bar for apps at the bottom of the screen, along with a call log, text log, and task manager for quick launches, closes, and uninstalls.

The clock widget is 3D and animated, with an animated weather widget on the way. You can also fiddle with background options, and add transition effects if you want your background to change over time.

There is no support for landscape mode, though that is said to be in development. There are no folders, either. There have been complaints of aShell Launcher causing lag, but the developers are promising speed improvements and memory usage optimization in future updates.

aShell Launcher is available now for free on Google Play.
