The Acer Iconia A700 is now available for pre-sale on Acer’s website, and will be showing up in stores sometime this month. The NVIDIA Tegra 3-powered Android 4.0 tablet seen at CES and Computex this year will be available in both silver and black.
The A700 will have a stand-out high-res 1080p HD display at 1920 x 1200 resolution. Other top of the line specs include audio coming from Dolby Mobile 3 with 5.1-channel surround sound. The tablet also packs in a 5 MP rear-facing camera, a 1 MP front-facing camera, an HDMI port, a micro USB 2.0 port, and a micro SD card slot that can expand storage by as much as 64GB, on top of the 32GB of on-board flash storage. Battery life is being put at about 10.5 hours of continuous video playback. In addition, the A700 can support two displays running at once. That means that it can continue working as a display while it outputs video to a larger display via HDMI.
The Acer Iconia A700 tablet is selling for a pretty reasonable $449.99, and it will be available in two colors – a silver, and a black model. In addition, Acer has also come out with a sleek portfolio case to keep the A700 protected. The portfolio case will retail for $39.99.
