The Epson XP-400 printer introduced us to the world of compact all-in-one printers -printer/scanner/copiers that can fit in tiny places without sacrificing functionality. The Brother Business Smart Series Inkjet All-in-One takes it one step further, throwing lightning-fast print speeds into the mix.
That is because the new printer from Brother is just a little bigger than 11” x 17”, which matches the maximum paper size the printer can handle. The Smart Series also packs in Landscape Print Technology, which means that the printer pushes out prints via a very untraditional landscape method. This new technology allows the printer to accomplish speeds of up to up to 35ppm in black (Fast mode) and up to 27ppm in Color (Fast Mode).
Brother has also thrown in a 3.7″ Touchscreen with swipe gesture support, which makes the printer’s settings that much easier to navigate. To top it all off, the printer is also compatible with Google Print, Brother iPrint & Scan, Wi-Fi Direct, and Cortado Workplace. It’s Wi-Fi compatible, and can be networked via ethernet cable, as well. Using that connectivity, users can print directly from Facebook, Picasa Web Albums, Flickr, Evernote, and Dropbox. The final feather in the cap is the use of high-yield ink cartridges, which promise to make the printer more budget-friendly for businesses.
The Brother Smart Series Inkjet All-in-One is expected to hit stores sometime in October, and will retail for about $199.
