The Kyocera Rise is an Android 4.0 phone with a 3.5” touchscreen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. For those who don’t like the physical keyboard, typing via Swype is possible, instead. There’s a 3.2 MP camera on the back, as well. A microSD card slot supports up to 32 GB of storage. This is definitely a budget smartphone, so you’ll have to do without things like a cutting-edge display, high-powered processor (though the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor isn’t too shabby), and a front-facing camera. But, a lot of people don’t need those things. If you just want a basic Android phone for a low price and no contract, the Kyocera Rise looks like it will be all you need.
You can get the Kyocera Rise from Virgin Mobile sans contract for about $100.
