Bose is releasing a new Apple-friendly speaker accessory, but don’t worry – you won’t have any adapter problems here.
The Bose SoundLink Air wireless speakers are made to work with AirPlay, so you can stream music straight from any mobile Apple device, or a computer running iTunes, over a Wi-Fi network. No docking, so again, no worries about the new Lightning adapter problem with the iPhone 5. Inside, you’ll find the best of Bose’s own sound technology – acoustic waveguide speaker technology and neodymium transducers.
Unfortunately, AirPlay along with state-of-the-art Bose tech is going to cost you. The Bose SoundLink Air will cost about $350, and will be available as of tomorrow. If you want your speaker to be totally wireless, you can also purchase an optional rechargeable lithium-ion battery, but the $90 price tag is a little outrageous.
