Just a few weeks ago Boost mobile announced that they would start offering the Samsung Galaxy S II on the cheap, with a no-contract prepaid plan, and now T-Mobile is following suit. The carrier has teamed up with Walmart to offer the Samsung Galaxy S II for just $299, when paired with one of T-Mobile’s Monthly4G no annual contract plans of $30 per month or higher. That includes T-Mobile and Walmart’s special $30 per month plan that offers unlimited Web, unlimited text; and 100 minutes of talk, with 10 cents per minute after the first 100 minutes.
All in all, this is quite a good deal. Especially when you consider that the price of the T-Mobile No-Contact Galaxy S II now beats Boost Mobile’s $379 price tag for their own Samsung Galaxy S II. In any case, it’s about time that the prepaid carriers started offering more competitive pricing on handsets, so this is all good news.
