Hello Kitty, Hello Art! Gallery Exhibition Celebrates Sanrio Characters
“Hello Kitty, Hello Art!” is a new art exhibition where you can find art inspired Hello Kitty and other favorite Sanrio characters. The exhibition which opened at Openhouse Gallery in New York last night, features paintings, sculpture, prints & media from popular street and contemporary artists from around the world – all of which have been inspired by Hello Kitty and her friends.
At the opening last night, Miss Hello Kitty herself was on hand, dressed in her black best. Betsey Johnson also showed up at the exhibition and posed with the adored cat. Betsey is just one of the artists that have participated in the exhibit. Other participating artists include Paul Frank Sunich, Simone Legno, POST, Adam Wallacavage & RISK.
The exhibit includes many eclectic and lovely piece of Hello Kitty inspired art, so you better act quickly, since a good majority of the pieces were sold last night at the opening. Public hours run from December 14th-16th. Fortunately, the back of the gallery has a ‘pop up shop’ running where you can pick up limited edition ornaments, custom made candy from Papabubble, holiday wreaths & garland, accessories and limited edition prints of select artwork.
