Speck FitFolio for iPad Mini Review
Protect your iPad Mini in style! The ever-so-fashionable Speck FitFolio is an all around solid solution for protecting iPad Mini in a trim package with a multi-angle stand. Plus, tell us you’ve seen an iPad Mini case more adorable than this PowerOwl Teal FitFolio!
Speck’s FitFolio is available in 7 different patterns and colors. All of the cases feature the same build, which we’re quite fond of. iPad Mini locks into a hard shell with a form-fit cradle. The protective padded front cover extends towards the back cover and is covered in a faux-leather or a fashionable fabric. The inside is covered in a soft microsuede. There’s an easy clasp to lock the portfolio-type case shut, offering all-around protection.
What makes the FitFolio so great, other than a fab design, is the multi-angle stand. Speck calls it a quad-angle stand, but we found it works nicely at more than four angles. There’s angles ideal for typing, viewing, and everything in between. We’ve found that sometimes cases with a lot of stand options are awkward to hold because of the design; FitFolio is actually really comfortable to hold, the front cover folds flat along the back.
Speck almost nailed it with the FitFolio for iPad Mini. Had they added a magnetic smart cover, it would have been unbeatable. The secure clasp is easy enough to use but auto-locking the screen would have been awesome. For overall build quality, comfort, design, and stand options, the Speck FitFolio is great. It’s not the lightest case out there, but it’s not too heavy by any means. Depending on the model, you can find the Speck FitFolio for iPad Mini for as little as $25.83 on Amazon. The quirky and adorable PowerOwl Blue Model grows on you quickly; it’s available for $31.23 on Amazon.
The Good: Cool Material/Pattern designs, Good Build Quality, Durable, Protective
The Bad: No Magnetic Smart Cover, Button cutouts could be a bit larger, Not so light
