Uniq March Case for iPad Mini Review
Since when did stripes look so good!? Uniq’s March Case for iPad Mini is pretty much as good as it gets, smart design, good production, built-in dual-mode stand, magnetic smart-lock cover and color options.
The March Case stopped us in our tracks as we passed the Uniq booth at CES. The design is simple, but the color scheme, especially on the ‘Sea Breeze’ model, really pops. The March Case is covered in authentic leather with a soft interior. There are large cutouts for all the ports and the buttons have leather overlays which are easy and natural to press.
iPad mini is securely situated under a leather frame with a thin bezel. The leather is durable and quote protective however Uniq left the corners of iPad slightly exposed which has us a bit concerned. Our only other gripe is that there’s just a tad of wiggle room for the Mini in its housing.
There’s a magnetic smartlock cover that’s strong enough to stay sealed to the case. Everytime the March case cover is opened, the screen turns on; everytime it’s closed the screen shuts off. The smartcover works perfectly. On the inside of the cover is a card pocket for one to a few thin cards. The cover also allows the March case to be propped up at a multitude of upright angles and even a slight inclined angle for typing.
The March Case is top notch when it comes to protecting iPad Mini in style. The durable leather remains pretty light and sleek. It feels great in-hand and the plethora of stand options work great. At $49.90, the March Case by Uniq is just slightly above the average price, but hey, it’s an above-average case made of genuine (colored) leather. It’s currently available in four glorious color schemes, Sea Breeze (pictured), Ethnic Infusion, Captain Snazzy, and Tropic Party.
The Good: Smart Design, fun color options, Multi-angle stands, Magnetic smart-lock cover, excellent high quality build quality, slim design, not too heavy
The Bad: A bit of wiggle room for iPad, Exposed corners
