The 1.7 GHz processor and 1 GB of DDR3 RAM is supposed to be powerful enough to bring all of your content to your HDTV in 1080p. Using the 1 TB of HDD storage on the device, you can watch movies, see pictures, and listen to music on your television via the device. It’s a little more than just a huge external hard drive, though – you’ll be able to access Google Play and get apps using the device, which runs Jelly Bean. You can also stream content from Samsung Galaxy devices to the HomeSync over Wi-Fi.
In regards to this being a family device, up to eight separate accounts can be created, which are kept private with file encryption and ID/password combinations. Owners of individual accounts can still easily and quickly share their private content with other family members.
HomeSync will be released this April, but Samsung hasn’t yet indicated how much it will cost.
