The second half of season seven of Doctor Who is starting up on March 30, and there’s been a bounty of information given up about the new episodes and the Doctor’s new companion in the run-up to the show’s 50th anniversary.
The 50th anniversary episode is being plotted far ahead of November, when it will air. Until then, you can enjoy the second part of season seven, which will see the Doctor in a pretty wide variety of locations and times with his new companion, Clara – the Impossible Girl who keeps popping up where she shouldn’t be. She’s been seen in a couple of episodes previously in this season, but will take center stage in the new run of episodes this year.
The season will start with The Bells of Saint John, which will feature alien Wi-Fi monsters, because why not? From there, the Doctor will head to other planets and times, trying to show off to his new companion while trying to figure out exactly what her deal is. Old enemies like the Cybermen will also pop up, receiving modern upgrades and an episode written by Neil Gaiman.
Entertainment Weekly has episode previews up for the first four episodes of the season – The Bells of Saint John, The Rings of Akhaten, Cold War, and Hide – along with movie-style posters for all four featuring the Doctor and his new companion.
