Uncommon Permafrost UN Deflector Sorbet Series for iPhone 4/5 Review

Get Uncommon. Case manufacturer Uncommon has just launched a special collection of Sorbet flavored iPhone cases. The Uncommon Permafrost UN Deflector Sorbet Series for iPhone 4/5 is a unique snap-on case that’s translucent and flavored in a variety of two-tone color options.

The design of the Sorbet cases is just how we like it: simple. It’s a basic snap-on case with large cutouts for the ports and buttons. It’s light, sleek, soft, and protective. The top and bottom of the case leaves iPhone mostly exposed, you’ll have to be a bit more careful but this improves the usability of iPhone. With a mostly exposed bottom, it will even fit in most docks.

The appearance of the Sorbet Series Permafrost is what differentiates it from any other case out there. As the “Permafrost” name implies, the case kind of frosts over your iPhone in a variety of colors. Even the darker colors (like red) are translucent enough to see the Apple logo shimmer through. There’s a number of bright and fun two-tone color options to choose from.

Gold and Teal, Lime and Mint, Red and Grey, and Violet and Pink are just a few of the wacky color schemes available for the iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5. Also, depending on the color of your iPhone, the cases will have completely different appearances. I went for the Red and Grey for my black iPhone. This is probably the most toned down color and it still has a really fun appearance. The Apple logo is still visible, as is all of the text on the back of the phone. Even the sides and border around iPhone’s face looks awesome. The appearance changes based on lighting.

If you’re looking for a way to brighten up your iPhone while also adding some protection, Uncommon’s Sorbet Series Permafrost UN Deflector will most certainly do the trick. Show off your colorful personality with an appropriately decorated iPhone. The case is high quality and practical. Really, the only downside is it can show some greasy finger prints in the wrong light, but this depends on your color. The Sorbet Series for iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 is currently available for $39.95. It’s a little pricier than your average iPhone case, but it could be well worth it.

The Good: Great color schemes, iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, Good cutouts, Good protection and durability
The Bad: Show’s greasy fingerprints, Not on Amazon, Pricier than average
