Do your shoes match your watch? They will for sure if you get in on the recent collaboration between Supra and Casio’s G-Shock line.
G-Shock rang in its 30th anniversary with the fruits of their partnership – a new pair of high tops from Supra, along with a matching watch from G-Shock. Both were unveiled at a launch party at Skylight West in New York City, which had tons of special musical and celebrity guests, and, more importantly, an open bar.
The watch itself is a little bit of a departure from the normal G-Shock watch, as much of the design work was handed over to Supra. The resin band was cast aside in favor of one made of military grade Cordura, with a red underside to match the red undersides of the high tops. The watch is still shock resistant, but the watch face is also representative of Supra – black branding on matte black, with red watch hands. Other than that, it’s a standard GA-100 model – water resistant to 200 meters, world time for 48 cities, an EL backlight, four alarms, and a flash alert.
The Supra Vaider Lite high tops continue with the black and red color scheme. The high part of the high top is resistant to abrasion, while the sole is made from Suprafoam, which keeps things light and cushy. There are also red traction pods on the bottom of the shoe. The tongue dates the shoe with a clock labeled “It’s About Time,” set to 8:13 (20:13 in military time).
Both the watch and the shoes will go on sale online and in stores on May 11.
