Product launches aside, you have to know that a party thrown by Beats and Playboy is going to be raucous one. That party of parties went down on Tuesday night, to celebrate the release of the Beats Black Executive headphones and Playboy’s Black Label apparel collection.
Subtlety was not the word of the day, as Playboy models showed off black headphones with that enormous Beats logo and T-shirts from Playboy, some with models printed right on the front. I’m not sure wearing any of those T-shirts in public will ever be not awkward, but I guess that’s neither here nor there. Anyway, the crown jewel of brand boosting was undoubtedly the Playboy T-shirt featuring a print with a model in Playboy attire holding a pair of Beats headphones for some reason.
The two-hour event (surely there were after-parties) was hosted by model Raquel Pomplun, and was all about the release of the black-clad Beats Executive headphones, which are made of aluminum and feature active noise cancellation (the downer being AA batteries are required). The Playboy Black Label Collection features some T-shirts with prints of models, and other less conspicuous prints of flowers, rabbits, and the Playboy logo. Those T-shirts all come in men’s and women’s styles.
