Ready to unceremoniously shove all the other automatic cappuccino makers off the stage, the Delonghi PrimaDonna is here to belt out its sweet aria of hissing steam and flowing coffee in the mornings. Or, whenever you down your delicious coffee drinks.
The latest would-be Starbucks replacement comes with a snazzy trailer (below), as well as all the trappings of a coffee shop. There’s a milk frother, you can use your own coffee beans, you can make steam, you can heat and filter water – the whole works. There’s even a separate carafe just for melted chocolate, if you want to get in on a cup of hot chocolate at home that doesn’t originate as powder in a packet. All in all, you can make cappuccinos, Italian latte macchiatos, caffe lattes, frothed milk, hot chocolate. All of that is controlled by a simplified color touch screen. Just pick which drink you want, put in your special orders, and you’re all set.
The PrimaDonna Exclusive should land in the U.S. sometime in early 2014. So, if you’re still looking for a way to buck Starbucks, you know what to do.
