Plantronics is releasing an update to their wireless earphones with the BackBeat GO 2, improving on their original BackBeat GO earphones, which we took a listen to last year.
The BackBeat GO 2 is pretty much the same concept as the first one – wireless Bluetooth earphones made for mobile and active use. So, what’s new? Audio quality has been bumped up across all ranges, and there is a neat included charging case that can provide up to two full charges of power. Battery power on this set is about four to five hours, with the case providing another 10 on top of that. And thanks to their DeepSleep hibernation mode, they will even hold a charge for 6 months while they are asleep. There are also voice prompts about charge status and when you switch connection from one Bluetooth device to another. And like their predecessors, these headphones are sweat-proof thanks to the P2i moisture protection technology on it that that repels sweat, rain, or spills, so they’re even better as a pair of exercise earphones.
You can get the BackBeat GO 2 now in black or white for $80 without the charging case, or $100 with the charging case. They are also now available in a choice of black or white. We’ll have a full review up soon.
