The new, refreshed line goes by the Envy Recline name. The HP Envy Recline 23 is the one that will get the special Beats edition, which will feature powerful dual speakers and the classic red and black Beats look. The PC itself will have 10-point multitouch and 4th generation Intel core i5 processor with a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M graphics processor. You’ll also have 8 GB of RAM on-board. The recline part comes from the hinge – if you have the PC on a desk, you can lay the monitor down to hang right over your lap, around where the keyboard would be. The IPS display is 1920 x 1080 resolution, and should look pretty sharp.
On the outside, there are four USB 3.0 ports – two on the base, and two on the edge of the monitor. There is an ethernet port, HDMI in, and a flash memory slot, along with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.
The HP Envy Recline 23 Beats Edition will be available in November with the specs listed above for $1,250 on hpshopping.com. Later, the Beats edition will come to retail stores, and will be available in a variety of configurations starting at $1,100.
