Phone shoppers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa can look forward to two new HTC Desire smartphones coming to market soon, set to upgrade what you can find in the mid-range and entry-level tiers.
The HTC Desire 601 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, and features a 4.5” qHD display. The big positives here are the inclusion of a few extras currently only found on higher-end HTC phones – HTC BoomSound, HTC Zoe, and HTC BlinkFeed. HTC BoomSound brings powerful sound right to the Desire 601’s native speakers, while BlinkFeed is your home screen, turned into a general social media feed using your collection of accounts. With HTC Zoe, you can use the Desire 601’s 5 MP camera to take stills, video, or three-second videos called Zoes, that kind of try to be moving snapshots. You can also make all kinds of slideshows and presentations using the feature.
The Desire 300 is the entry-level phone, and has 4.3” display. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz dual-core processor, and only includes HTC BlinkFeed out of the three features mentioned above.
The HTC Desire 601 and Desire 300 will both hit European, Middle Eastern, and African markets at the end of October.
