The impending release of Windows 8.1 is bringing with it a whole host of new tablets running the new operating system out of the box, with the latest being the Acer Iconia W4. It’s another 8” Windows tablet, and you can go out and get it as of today.

The Iconia W4 runs Windows 8.1 on a 1.8 GHz 4th generation Intel Atom processor. There’s a 1280 x 800 IPS display, a 5 MP rear camera, and a 2 MP front camera, both of which support 1080p video. It’ll come in 32 GB and 64 GB models (with a microSD card slot), and will have a battery life of 8 to 10 hours. Aside from storage capacity, this tablet is roughly identical in specs to the Lenovo Miix2, another Windows 8.1 tablet coming to market.

Also, like the Miix2, you’ll get Microsoft Office Home & Student edition for free with the purchase of the Iconia W4. Around the edges, you’ll find microHDMI and microUSB ports, as well. The whole thing weighs less than a pound, and is a little less than half an inch thick.

And, of course, there are accessories to be had. You can get the Acer Crunch Keyboard, which serves as a Bluetooth keyboard and a stand, or the Acer Crunch Cover, which can serve as a cover and a stand. There’s also a keyboard cover and a stylus optional with purchase.

The Acer Iconia W4 itself is $330 for the 32 GB model and $380 for the 64 GB model. You should be able to find it in stores as of today.
