Louis Vuitton has kicked off a brand new advertising campaign, and is using an iOS app in a way that, if you think about it, should really signal the permanent end of QR codes.
That’s because, instead of scanning those ugly, splotchy QR codes, Louis Vuitton wants you to use your mobile device to scan the lovely new images you’ll see in print and out in the city with the logo of the app, Louis Vuitton Pass, stamped on them. Doing so will bring up more information about the Louis Vuitton products you find in the images, and how you can purchase them for yourself. There’s also bonus content, like behind-the-scenes information of how each image in the campaign was put together. And, of course, you can share your favorites over social media directly through the app.
