Microsoft is kicking off the arrival of the Xbox One next week with the greatest of all gaming pursuits – the noble tournament. At six Microsoft stores across the nation, competitors will line up to thrash opponents and break combos in the revival of Killer Instinct, which is an Xbox One exclusive.
On November 21, starting at 6:00 PM, you can make the pilgrimage over to one of six Microsoft stores – University Village in Seattle, Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, Colorado, the Houston Galleria in Houston, the Florida Mall in Orlando, or the Burlington Mall in Burlington, Massachusetts – to register for a massive Killer Instinct tournament that will culminate in mad prizes for the winners. 256 people at each location can register for the tournament, which will start at 8:00 PM and go until midnight. The winners from each location will be flown to Jacksonville for the final round the day after, but, more importantly, will all receive an Xbox One Gaming House and every single Xbox One launch title, which is enough gaming to last for a long, long time. The winner of the whole thing will get to attend the Microsoft store opening in Jacksonville and see a Macklemore and Ryan Lewis concert, which is alright, but nowhere near as good as the previous prize.
Until then, you can head on over to any Microsoft store, where you’ll be able to play Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One, with more titles to come at 10:00 PM on November 21. Of course, that all leads up to midnight November 22, where you can actually get One for yourself.
