In the great Black Friday of 2013, it would appear that Apple managed to win the day overall. But, their victory was neither resounding nor unanimous. Perhaps a little surprisingly, the Microsoft Surface carried Best Buy this year, which could mean an uptick in interest in Microsoft’s tablet.

MarketWatch breaks down the aftermath of Black Friday, fresh off this year’s long-awaited conquest of Thanksgiving. Probably the most significant piece of news is that a major price comparison site, PriceGrabber.com, let on that the iPad Mini and iPad Air were the most searched for products this year. That carried into Target and Walmart, where the top sellers for the day were the iPad Air and iPad Mini, respectively.

But, it was a different story over at Best Buy. The Microsoft Surface won out over there, with nary a new Apple product in the top five. The iPad 2 did come in second at Best Buy, at $299, which doesn’t seem like that good of a deal, so I don’t know what was going on there. Still, good for the Surface – its success on shopping’s biggest day of the year should put to bed fears over the tablet being a misguided venture.

As for the console wars, just keep watching, because – as always with console launches – both are pretty much totally sold out everywhere, anyway.
