Hands On: iRobot Scooba 450

Only a little while ago, iRobot refreshed the iRobot Roomba 800 series. Now it is the Scooba’s time to shine. The Scooba 450 has gotten a complete makeover. From the inside to the outside, the iRobot Scooba 450 is looking to sweep and mop your floor without you breaking a sweat.

The Scooba 450 uses the Scooba Three-Cycle Cleaning Process to wash away up to 99.3% of bacteria and is 3x times more effective at cleaning floors than previous models. The bottom of the Scooba features a squigee-like design that rinses and washes your floors with great detail. We witnessed it cleaning up ketchup, smashed cereal, and red wine on hardwood floors. The Scooba 450 was able to vacuum, wash, rinse, that disgusting mess up.

Before, the Scooba models were more clumsy in their day to day routine. Cleaning up after them in fact was even more sloppy and cumbersome then the actual task itself. However, that has all changed and even your interaction with the Scooba is more pleasant with the new button and verbal cues. The Scooba is more ready and able to clean and mop your floors than ever before.

The iRobot Scooba 450 floor scrubbing robot is available now for $599.99. It still works best when paired with a Roomba, but for those who are are more into mopping than vacuuming, the Scooba 450 might be the perfect new robot friend for you.
