Hey, just because you’re a budget airline doesn’t mean you can’t offer a first-class experience, right? JetBlue is rolling out Mint – its own premium seating arrangements for those who want to travel cheaply, but whoa, not that cheaply.
Obviously, this will include larger, more comfortable seats that you can recline without being a monstrous person. In fact, they can lay completely flat, so you can take a proper nap without worrying about anyone behind you. There are even train-style private suites available, with a door sealing off four of those premium super-seats. You also get 15” screens with entertainment from DirecTV and Sirius FM Radio, plus Fly-Fi, JetBlue’s satellite-based in-air Wi-Fi service.
What else? Proper food, bottle service for wine, fast pass through security, a goodie bag with beauty, grooming and lifestyle products, and artisanal sweets. It’s a proper first-class experience that might even top what more expensive airlines offer.
JetBlue Mint kicks off this month, with Mint seats becoming available on flights between LAX and JFK airports. By the end of this year, SFO will also be included. For reference, for a $400 flight to JFK from LAX, the lowest Mint price is $800.
