Kensington has created a new keyboard case that plays nice with both your iPad and your smartphone. It’s a Bluetooth keyboard for your iPad Air, but it can give an extra charge to your smartphone if you’re running low on power.
The KeyFolio Thin X3 is, as the name suggests, thin. One of the big selling points of the iPad Air is how light it is to carry around, so any keyboard case needs to avoid adding too much weight to the package. Kensington’s new case does just that, but doesn’t sacrifice anything in the way of functionality. It has a six-row keyboard with scissor keys, with the top row featuring a bunch of tablet shortcut keys. PowerLift technology can also turn the case into an external battery pack for any mobile device, including your smartphone.
The case has a magnetic clasp, which automatically puts the keyboard into sleep mode when detached from an iPad Air or when the cover is closed. The case can also be flipped around, so you can use your tablet in presentation mode, keeping the keyboard out of the way.
