These Recipe Tattoos Are Good Enough to Eat

Recipe Tattoo

Recipes in the kitchen are coming full circle. They’ve gone from word-of-mouth to the pages of cookbooks to the screens of tablets, and now they’re heading back to the human body—this time, in temporary tattoo form.

Marina Cinciripini and Sarah Richiuso, a couple of design students from the culinary wonderland of Italy, came up with I Tradizionali, a series of temporary tattoo recipes with ingredient illustrations and step-by-step directions. The theme of tradition runs through the whole project—traditional recipes combined with the traditional act of rolling up your sleeves before getting down to business.

The design duo tried to get their idea funded on eppela, a crowdfunding site, but fell well short of their €6000 goal. They’re still planning on shipping of recipe tattoo packs to the people who did contribute to the project, and are looking for other ways to keep the dream alive. Here’s hoping—beats having to worry about whether or not your tablet is splash-proof.
