The Surface Pro 3 is one of our favorite Windows 8 devices of the year so far, and it just took things up a notch with the release of the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station. The Surface Pro 3 Docking Station essentially transforms the very mobile device into a desktop replacement by adding several ports.
So what exactly does it bring to the Surface? A gigabit Ethernet port for up to 1 Gbps wired network speeds, a Mini DisplayPort for HD video with support for up to a 4096 x 2304 resolution, and six USB ports – four of which are USB 3.0 ports. The dock will also allow you to connect an external mouse, keyboard, monitor, printer and audio system. In addition the dock serves as a 48w charging system to keep your Surface Pro 3 charged while keeping the other connected USB devices simultaneously charging.
Alternatively, the dock can be used to create a daisy chain set up with two monitors connecting to the Surface Pro 3 – for a complete 3 display set up. All in all, this is one must-have accessory if you’re looking to take the Surface Pro 3 to the next level and make it into a desktop-like experience.
The Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is now available at Microsoft Stores, Amazon, Best Buy, and Staples for $215.Buy it!
