Beats Swings for the Fences With New Solo2 Wireless Headphones

How do you make your most popular line of headphones even more popular? Making them wireless and selling them during peak holiday shopping season will probably do the trick. Later this month, Beats by Apple (er, Dre) will start selling Solo2 Wireless headphones in stores and on Apple’s online store.

These don’t need much introduction. You’ve probably seen the Solo2 headphones a lot on the street if you don’t have a pair yourself—they’re the slimmed-down version of Beats’ Studio headphones, and the top choice of people looking to take Beats on the go. The Solo2 Wireless headphones will have a 30-foot Bluetooth range and a battery life of 12 hours. The Solo2 Wireless headphones will also come with a RemoteTalk cable you can use if the battery dies on you.

The Solo2 Wireless headphones will be available later this month for $300, and will come in red, blue, black, or white. The red version will be exclusive to Verizon (online and in stores) for the duration of the holiday season, after which it will presumably be made widely available. Beats is also introducing a new line of colors for the regular Solo2 headphones. The Royal Edition colors feature a satin, iridescent finish and include Stone Grey, Hunter Green, Imperial Violet, Blush Rose, and Sapphire Blue.
